I love piri piri chicken and fortunately we have a Nandos quite nearby, why though do these places have to tear the arse out of it with drink prices ?? I had a glass of red wine and HM had a glass of white which came to nearly 11 quid. A small bottle of beer was 3:50 as well. It takes the edge of a lovely meal when you are being stuffed for drinks I reckon. A total contrast is a pub round the corner that charges 6 quid for a whole bottle of wine, £2:40p for any pint of beer and most meals are under a fiver. They do a slow roast belly of pork for 6 quid and it is superb. I am always wary of cheap food etc but this is actually really good

The trouble is,they've arrived in the post today and it's way too early to plant them out.
Where can I keep them so they won't start growing/spoil until the 2nd week of April?
The new one is a good bit bigger than t'other, and the owner is amazingly laid back with regard to my shooting.

I can use any caliber I please, day or night. I can practise on clays if I wish, can build permanent hides if I wish, and all he asks is that I ring to warn him I'm going out.

This permission is about seven fields, including streams, a wood, and arable land amounting to approximately 200 acres. I went on a recce last eve with an air rifle and bagged six bunnies with clean headshots, which I hadn't expected at all on the first night! They are not used to being shot at, which helped.

Going out again later in the week, and Thursday am going to my favourite gunshops with my wallet...................

Worn out now, and too weary last night to post, but we both spent all weekend at the allotment, only returning home for food alcohol and a bed. We built fences, put shelves in the shed, made a gate, dug trenches, filled said trenches with compost from home, transplanted all our strawberries (about 100 or so plants) into three raised beds, transplanted from home blackcurrants, redcurrants, white currents, raspberries into a new canes bed, ready to be coverred in a netted cage in a few weeks. The large stones I am lifting when digging are being formed into a patio area by the shed so we can sit and enjoy a cuppa when we need a break.

We also weeded borders, double-dug some more beds, erected climbing trellis for the cucumbers which are coming on on the windowsill in the kitchen. Finally we planted 100 onion seeds in seed trays, along with sweet peppers, sunflowers, and half a dozen herbs. Mad for it is what we are.
Back down there in a day or two to prepare the potato beds.
